What is the activity converter?

The activity converter allows you to convert your time spent performing common activities like cycling and yoga into steps and distance straight from the MoveSpring mobile app. When you convert an activity, you have the option to select which metrics (steps, distance, and active minutes) you want added to your daily activity. You can choose to add 1, 2, or all 3 metrics, depending on what your device has already credited you for.

Data added through converted activities will be combined with any device data synced for the day.

⚠️ Please note: It is up to your challenge admin to enable the activity converter. If you do not see the option to add activity, it is not allowed for your challenge.

Things to keep in mind:

  • Activities can be logged for up to 7 days (the current day and the previous 6 days).

  • The activity converter should be used to get credit for activities that aren’t tracked by your device based on steps, such as cycling and yoga. Do not convert activities that have already been credited to your account via a connected device.

  • Make sure to only add metrics that were not picked up by your connected device. If your device credited you for active minutes spent on an activity, but not steps or distance, only add those missing metrics. Check and uncheck each metric as needed in the converter.

  • You should aim to only convert time you were actively engaged in an activity. If you're performing an activity with longer periods of rest in-between (such as a sport where you rest between games), do not convert rest time to add via the converter. Only add the active time you spent performing the activity.

  • Activities should be logged individually on the specific day it was performed. Do not add in data for multiple days under one entry. This will throw off challenge stats.

  • Grace period rules always apply. Once a challenge ends, all scoring is final and challenge stats can no longer be updated. Any converted activities added or removed after your challenge ends will save to your MoveSpring account but will not update in your challenge.

  • Converted activities are added to any device data synced for the day. Syncing from your device will not be interrupted if you add a converted activity entry during the day, but totals between your device and MoveSpring will no longer match due to the additional data logged in MoveSpring.

How to add a converted activity

Note: It is only possible to convert activities from the MoveSpring mobile app at this time. You will not be able to convert activities from the MoveSpring website, but you can use this conversion list and manual activity entry to log additional data if manual activity entry is allowed for your challenge.

  1. From your dashboard, select the floating “+” icon in the bottom right corner, or select the Add activity button:

2. From the “Add an activity” overlay, select the Convert activity button or select a recent converted activity to log. Choose your activity, select your activity duration, and select the corresponding date. By default, the date will be set to today. Select Calculate to review the converted totals.

3. When reviewing the conversion, you have the option to select which metrics you want added to your daily activity. You can choose to add 1, 2, or all 3 metrics, depending on what your device has already credited you for. Simply check the metric(s) you want added, and then select Save activity to save your entry to your account:

4. Once your activity has been added, you’ll see a confirmation at the bottom of your screen confirming that your activity has been saved:

How to delete converted activities from the MoveSpring mobile app
