The Fitbit Web API (owned by Google) is scheduled to be discontinued on 30 September 2026. As a result, users who currently connect their Fitbit devices to MoveSpring will no longer be able to sync their Fitbit steps through the existing Fitbit connection.
Alternative options for affected Fitbit users
Android users
Android users can use Health Connect to share supported step data with MoveSpring. Depending on your setup, you may also be able to connect Fitbit to Health Connect.
iPhone (iOS) users
If you use Fitbit with an iPhone, you may be able to continue syncing your Fitbit steps by connecting Google Health (formerly Google Fit, if that is the app you use) to Apple Health.
Here's what to do:
Connect Google Health to Apple Health and allow it to share step data.
Prioritize Google Health in Apple Health. In the Health app, go to your step data sources and move Google Health above your iPhone as the preferred source.
Keep Apple Health connected to MoveSpring. MoveSpring can then receive the step data available through Apple Health.
For more details, see Apple's guide under “Prioritize data sources” here.

Please note that the exact setup may vary depending on your device, app versions, and available permissions. We recommend checking that your steps are successfully syncing before relying on this workaround.
