Push notifications send users a timely message about an event occurring inside the app. Use push notifications to prevent users from missing key moments or info in their challenge. Users will receive these notifications if they use the mobile app.

MoveSpring currently has 7 types of push notifications. All clients should customize their notification preferences before onboarding their participants from the App Settings page in the MoveSpring Admin Center.

Once a user creates their account, they can adjust their personal notification preferences in their profile. User preferences are always favored and cannot be changed.

1. Content Activity
When a new piece of content is posted, a user will get a push notification to alert them. Be sure to schedule a variety of content throughout your challenge.

2. Chat Activity
Each time a new message is posted in group or team chat, all challenge participants will get a push notification. We summarize large volumes of messages as to not overwhelm the user.

3. Sync Activity (Auto-enabled)
We send 2 reminders to sync. The first is when the user hasn’t synced in 3 days. The user will receive another reminder if they haven’t synced in 7 days total.

4. Friend Activity
Users will receive notifications when someone requests to be their friend, accepts their friend request, sends them a challenge invite, or accepts their challenge invite.

5. Challenge Activity
Users will receive notifications for challenge invites and challenge progress. Challenge progress notifications are currently only available for Virtual Race challenge modes.

For example, users will receive notifications whenever they reach a new milestone in their Virtual Race challenge.

6. Badge Activity
Users will receive notifications when they unlock a new badge.

7. Monthly Step Goals

Users will receive notifications on their monthly step goal progress. These notifications will send to users when they reach 50%, 90%, and 100% of their goal progress. Users will also receive notification reminders that they can adjust their goal if the goal they have set might be too high or too low depending on their progress the previous months.
