Using the Friends Feature in MoveSpring

Find out how to send, respond to, and cancel friend requests, how to unfriend, and how to send direct chat messages to friends.

Please note: Friends must be enabled in your client account for you to access this feature. Only challenge administrators can enable this feature. 

Add friends in MoveSpring for ongoing, daily competition with those you know best! Once friends with someone, you can keep up with their daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly stats even when you’re not in a challenge. You can also send friends direct messages in chat and view more of their profile.

Currently, you'll need to use the mobile app for full access to this feature. Some friends features are unavailable from the web app.

How to Use the Friends Feature

To access friends, you'll need to select Friends from the dropdown menu in the upper left hand corner of the dashboard.

Using the Friends Leaderboard

  1. When you open Friends, you will be able to view an activity leaderboard

  2. Select Total steps to change the metric to distance or active minutes

  3. Select By day to change the time frame you want to view totals based on (day, week, month, or year)

  4. Select the < arrow to view previous time frames based on your chosen metric

Send a friend request

  1. After opening Friends, click the Add button at the top right

  2. Search for people you know by full name or nickname. You can only search users who are in the same MoveSpring client account. For example: If you joined Wellbeing+ with Acme Company, you can only search and friend other users who joined Wellbeing+ with Acme Company.

  3. Click the add friend icon next to their nickname and confirm your friend request by selecting Send request

Once this person accepts your request, you will see them appear in your Friends tab.

Respond to a friend request

  1. After opening Friends, tap the Requests tab at the top right

  2. Select the Accept button to add the user, or Decline to decline the request

Cancel a friend request

  1. After opening Friends, click the Add button at the top right

  2. Search for the request you want to cancel by full name or nickname

  3. Click the Cancel button at the right

Remove a friend

  1. After opening Friends, search for the friend you want to remove by full name or nickname

  2. Tap on the user, and then click View profile

  3. Tap on the Friends button

  4. Confirm that you want to remove the friend by tapping Unfriend

Send a direct chat message to a friend

  1. After opening Friends, search for the friend you want to message by full name or nickname

  2. Tap on the user, and then click View profile

  3. Click the dots in the upper right hand corner, and then click Send a message

  4. Type your message and click Send

Friends on the Website

To access Friends on the MoveSpring website, click the Friends tab in the top navigation bar.

The Friends feature on web allows you to search for and see a list view of your current friends. You'll also be able to compare daily stats with your friends. 

When accessing MoveSpring on the web, some friends features are unavailable. To add friends and respond to friend requests or chat directly with friends, please use our mobile app.

Privacy 

Once you add someone as a friend, we will display your full name. If you wish to remain anonymous, do not send or accept friend requests.
