Step 1: Choose a goal

When choosing a personalized goal, you’ll need to consider 3 things:

The goal range

When choosing a goal for a challenge, you will be given a range set by your organization's challenge admin to choose from. For example, your admin may set a goal range of 2,000 to 40,000 steps a day for a Streak challenge. Your daily goal needs to fall within this range.

The challenge mode

The goal you choose will vary depending on the challenge mode. Here is a summary of each challenge mode to help you set an appropriate goal:

  • Streak
The Streak mode allows you to set a daily goal to reach every day of your challenge. This means the goal you set should be something you think you can realistically achieve each day of the challenge without missing any days.

  • Stick to It
The Stick to It mode allows you to set a daily goal to reach a set number of days. Your challenge admin will determine the number of days you’ll need to reach the goal you’ve chosen.

  • Target
The Target mode allows you to set a long-term goal to work toward over the course of your challenge dates.

Note: Once your challenge starts, it is not possible to change your goal. Please ensure your goal is set correctly before your challenge begins.

Your fitness level

When you set your challenge goal, it's important to consider your current fitness level. Take into consideration your daily averages to help you chose a goal that is challenging enough while still being realistic. You can view your historic activity data from your Profile, or you can reference these common daily averages if you're not sure of your current activity level:

  • 6,000 steps per day

  • 20 active minutes per day

  • 2.5 miles or 4 km per day

Step 2: Set your goal

From the MoveSpring mobile app

  1. Locate your challenge from the list of challenges under the Challenges section

  2. Tap the Select your challenge goal: Tap here section to get started

  3. Enter your goal and select Save

  4. You'll now see your goal has been updated. If your challenge hasn't started yet, you can choose Edit your goal from here to update your goal.*

*Note: You can edit your goal until the challenge starts. After the challenge starts, your goal cannot be updated.

If you do not choose a personalized goal by one week in to the challenge, you will automatically be assigned the goal range minimum.

From the MoveSpring website

  1. From your web dashboard, scroll down to view your challenge. If you don't see your challenge, check to confirm you're viewing the correct Challenge tab (either active or upcoming).

  2. Choose the blue Set your challenge goal button
