Weekly raffles can boost engagement and bring excitement to any longer challenges (4+ weeks in length). Periodic raffles can also help you make the most of a one-time plan on MoveSpring!
This article will walk you through the steps to set up weekly raffles for your next challenge.

How should I communicate about upcoming raffles?
Communicate before your challenge begins
Before your challenge begins, we recommend communicating any weekly raffles you’re planning to host with your participants. To promote your weekly raffles in the MoveSpring app, we suggest using the Announcements feature or sharing via content in your challenge. It’s also a good idea to share your weekly raffles via a second communication channel, such as Slack/Microsoft Teams or email.
Here is a sample of an announcement you could share before your challenge begins listing each weekly raffle:
Title: List of weekly raffles 🎟
Description:
Our MoveSpring challenge starts next week! Ready to get stepping? 👟
We’ll also have weekly raffles to celebrate your participation. Here’s how to qualify for each raffle:
[Week 1: Avg 3,000+ steps/day for week 1
Week 2: Increase your avg steps from week 1 to week 2
Week 3: Create your own challenge by X date
Week 4: Reach 50+ miles in the Virtual Race by week 4
Week 5: Post a photo in chat by X date
Week 6: Avg 5,000+ steps/day throughout the challenge]
Communicate during your challenge
It’s also helpful to remind your participants of each weekly raffle during your challenge. You can share these reminders in the app using challenge chat or content, as well as outside the app via Slack/Microsoft Teams or email.
In addition, you’ll need to communicate raffle winners each week. You can use this template to announce weekly winners:
Title: [Week 1] raffle winner
Description:
Great news! We have our [first] raffle winner!
Drum roll please... 🥁
Please join us in congratulating [username]! 🎉 You [successfully reached an average of X steps per day during week 1] to qualify for the raffle, and you’ve won [a company water bottle]!
We’ll reach out directly with more details on your prize shortly, so keep an eye on your email inbox. Great job, and keep up the good work!
If you’d like to include additional surprise raffles throughout your challenge, you can chose to leave those details out of your initial communications until you announce winners at the end of the week or at the end of your challenge.
